About

Welcome to my Gallery !

A little about me, I'm a retired Registered Nurse who started in photography with solargrams were in 1955. In 1959 my first photos were with an old black box camera with 120 BW film in. In 1969 into the dark room bulk loading BW tri x anf bulk Kodak infrared as my go to BW film with a small european 35MM pocket camera with manual focus and apeture settingS. Focus and exposures were by estimating, no range finder or interrnal light meter. Later I was able to get a external light meter to help with exposures. Fond memories of working on the dark room. printing on F #3 kodak paper, at this time my only lens was a 50mm f2 and a 28mm 2.8. As things evolved I moved up to the Kodak DCS 14n pro Digital camera which used nikon lenses. I followed this with the the Nikon coolpix 990 and then onto the nikon D200 and finally now with my Z 6, My how things have come so far.

Thanks to my father Stanley A. Dye, who was also a “shutterbug” I was able to move up to a SLR, and I thought I was in heaven.

While in Nursing school I was able to continue to dable in my photography and even did a stint as a stringer for the local newspaper “The Napa Register”.

Now, after rasing a family and have finally retired, my wife/partner and I are living in Portugal. With her help and support I have let loose the hounds of artistic hunger to again create art with my photography. My vision is rather eclectic so my subject matter varies from minimalisms, abstracts, people, and the world around me.

Please take the time to view my images. Love them or hate them, it's all good as a goal of art is to evoke an emotional response.

If possible, please share my site with any friends or family members who enjoy photography and art.
